The rise of auto tunes among Nigeria artiste

When the importance of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable and that's the case with Auto tuning among Nigeria artiste.

Honestly speaking, i'm baffled with the recent rise of poorly and half fed artiste who are so careless with their God's giving voice thinking they can do better by auto tuning their voice while neglecting it's negative side effects.

No wonder award winning America rapper Jay Z was against the use of auto tune plugins from the day it was introduced and even went as far as releasing a lead single on it (death of auto tune D. O. A)

He said in his words that the use of auto tune has become rampant and that many artiste are now jumping into this new trend as a device to reach some ends.

According to Wikipedia, Auto-Tune is an audio processor created by Antares Audio Technologies which uses a proprietary device to measure and alter
pitch in vocal and instrumental music recording and performances.

It was originally intended to disguise or correct off-key inaccuracies, allowing vocal tracks to be perfectly tuned despite originally being slightly off-key.

Taking a closer look at the above definition, you'll agree with me that technology has really played a major role in the music industry but in the same vain, it has done more harm than good.

However, many of our artiste today has forgo the basic requirement of this humble art of voice training and as such mess them selves up on several occasions when called upon on live performances because they are so addicted to this new found love.

I vividly remember how emeka my Lodge mate complained bitterly to me over a show he once attended. He said in his words that i should have seen how this popular Artiste made a fool of himself. He was busy screaming like someone who just contacted gonorrhea.

The said artiste happens to be my favorite and supporting him at this point in time means giving emeka his money back so i kept mute.

It is so pathetic to know that they are no longer the likes of fela, who knew what the humble act of singing was and on several occasions wowed their audience through their live performances and their mastering of the musical instruments.

Majority are just in for the money without taking time to research on what it means to become a musician.

Oh what a shame it is to wake up to a generation where the love of money has made them neglected this noble art? All you see around this days are bunch of carefully produced junks with a beat to back it up..

Is it the beat that we stand on stage to sing the lyrics for you? When are we going to see the likes of fela again? Will there ever be an end to this auto tuned generation? A question only we can answer.

You may think you're at the top of the game now but only time we tell who the real legend are.

Please feel free to contribute as we love to hear from you...
